Question:
Dear sir, My wife, age 42 suffers from pain in the right heel/ankle. Initially we thought it could be tendonitis and saw a orthopaedic surgeon. Oral medication did not help. Cortisone injection was also of no use. Blood tests did not reveal anything unusual . Neither did x-ray for spurs. The pain is now spreading to the knee and to the left leg. Could the conditions be linked to orthotics. Is there a orthotics specialist in Singapore?
Doctor's Reply:
If you can find a foot specialist who has had some training in the USA they may be able to prescribe an appropriate orthotic. Perhaps a pre-fab shoe insert may help.Check out our "Foot Care Products" section of our website. Consider having her stretch her calf muscles. This may provide some significant relief. Have her stretch three to four times a day for the next few weeks. You can read how to properly stretch on our website. This is an effective therapy.
